On 12/10/13, officers made contact with employees at the Salem Water Users Association about a theft incident. Officers were informed that checks had been stolen out of their company mailbox over the weekend and that fraudulent checks were being written on them.

The Benton Police Department is proud to announce the recent graduation of one of our officers from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy. The officer is Joshua Pennington who was hired by the department in April of this year after successfully passing all of the required testing and hiring requirements.

Recently, we’ve received numerous citizen complaints about the illegal use of ATV’s on city streets. Often, the complaints involve the unsafe usage of the ATV by juveniles or young adults that are operating it in a manner that poses danger to their life and those around them.
