Officers Taking Zero Tolerance Stance On ATV's And Golf Carts On Public Roadways

  Recently, we’ve received numerous citizen complaints about the illegal use of ATV’s on city streets.  Often, the complaints involve the unsafe usage of the ATV by juveniles or young adults that are operating it in a manner that poses danger to their life and those around them.

 

Suspect Arrested In Connection With Drugging And Raping A Juvenile

 JamesGilliam1   On 11/21/13, officers took a report involving a possible rape of a juvenile incident.  Contact was made with the victim in the case and the case was turned over to detectives for investigation into the matter.

 

Request From Animal Control With Vicious Dogs Call Leads To Animal Being Put Down

    On 11/26/13, at approximately 1:35 PM, officers responded to assist Benton Animal Control officers on a call of four dogs fighting in the front yard of an address on Gibson Street.  Animal control officers and a patrol officer made contact with the citizen complainant who informed them four dogs had been viciously fighting and that one appeared to be severely injured and was still being attacked.

Morgan (48 YOA).

  On Tuesday, December 17th, law enforcement officers from Saline County will participate in the Shop With Our Cops program at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Benton.  This program was started in 1998 by the Saline County Chaplains Association in conjunction with the following police departments; Alexander, Bauxite, Benton, Bryant,Haskell, Shannon Hills, the Benton Health Services,and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.

Two Suspects Arrested For Theft And Robbery At Local Business

    On 11/18/13, at approximately 6:00 PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart Supercenter (17309 I-30) in reference to a shoplifting call.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with store employees who informed them two suspects had stolen items and used force during the commission of the crime.
