SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ARMED ROBBERY INCIDENT
Detectives with the Benton Police Department have made an arrest in relation to the recent armed robbery of the Home Run Gas Mart (1415 Military Rd.) that occurred on 1/26/14. The suspect in the case, Walter Wilkerson (23 YOA) of Benton, was taken into custody on 1/30/14 without incident.
On 1/31/14, at approximately 3:00 AM, an officer with the Benton Police Department was conducting a foot patrol of Bailey’s Trailer Park (601 N. Summit Rd.) when he observed a subject wearing all dark clothing walking near wood line behind a trailer.
On 1/29/14, at approximately 12:24 PM, Benton officers responded to an address on Fifth Street on report of a residential burglary. Upon making contact with the victim, it was determined that a burglary had occurred and numerous items had been stolen.
On 1/28/14, at approximately 4:55 PM, officers took a report of found property in the area of Carter Street. They made contact with a member of the coroners office who informed them a citizen had located a box of human ashes under their car.

On 1/26/14, officers responded to a disturbance call on Gray Street. Upon their arrival, they made contact with the two parties involved in the disturbance, Summer Loquet (34 YOA) and David Bourque (37 YOA).
