Benton Police Department recently served the warrant from the July 23 hit-and-run incident near the 17700 block of I-30 that took the life of 28-year-old Louisiana resident Dustin Thompson.

Benton Police Department responded to the 400 block of S. Neeley Street just after 8 p.m. Thursday in reference to reports of the occupants of two vehicles shooting at one another. The suspects had fled the scene when officers arrived.

Benton Police Department responded to the area of 17700 I-30 just after 8:30 a.m. Friday in reference to an unresponsive male subject. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male victim. Attempts to identify the victim and notify next of kin are underway.
BNPD RESPONDS TO SHOOTING INCIDENT; SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
Benton Police Department responded to a possible-shooting call just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday at a North Fourth Street residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive juvenile male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
BNPD MAKES ARREST IN COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Benton Police Department responded to A2Z Collision in reference to a breaking or entering in progress at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old David Welch of Benton, was apprehended at the scene.
