BNPD: ONE ARRESTED, ONE WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH SHOOTING AT BENTON APARTMENT COMPLEX

Benton Police Department officers responded to multiple disturbances at Chapel Ridge Apartments Monday, including a shooting shortly after 7:30 p.m. that resulted in a 13-year-old female victim with a single gunshot wound to the leg. She remains under medical care but is considered stable.

A 17-year-old male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and charged with two counts of Terroristic Act, a Class Y felony; Battery 1st Degree, a Class B felony; Aggravated Riot, a Class D felony; Minor in Possession of a Handgun, a Class A misdemeanor; and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in City Limits, an unclassified misdemeanor.

BNPD detectives have obtained a warrant for a second shooter, identified as 52-year-old Edward Eugene Hill, who has not yet been located. He is facing charges of Battery 1st Degree, a Class B felony; two counts of Terroristic Act, a Class Y felony; Aggravated Riot, a Class D felony, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, a Class B felony; and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in City Limits.

Hill should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if located.
