SUSPECT FACING MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES STEMMING FROM TRAFFIC STOP

Brian Stovall MugshotBenton Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Hyten and North Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday after a vehicle license plate returned with an active warrant from DeWitt PD. Upon probable cause search, over $1400 in cash was found on the person of 29-year-old Brian Stovall of Mabelvale.

Stovall was also found to be in possession of multiple narcotics, which initial tests show to be heroin (15 grams), cocaine (19 grams) and marijuana (5 grams). He was booked into the Saline County Jail and charged with Possession of Heroin with the Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Cocaine with the Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Marijuana with the Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia x2, Furnishing Prohibited Articles, Driving on a Suspended License and No Vehicle License.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
