Benton, Ark.- Jan. 26, 2018— On the evening of January 25, Benton Police Department received information about a possible threat directed toward the Benton Junior High School campus. BNPD officers and detectives quickly followed leads, which led to a juvenile suspect.
The juvenile was taken into custody without incident within 45 minutes of the threat being received and was turned over to juvenile officers for processing. BNPD thanks all who shared valuable information that resulted in curtailing the potential threat, as the safety of our children is paramount.
This incident remains an ongoing investigation.
