A minor-child passenger in a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, has succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision, becoming the second life lost in the incident.
At approximately 3:58 p.m. Monday, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision at Benton Parkway near the intersection of Edison Avenue. A driver of one of the vehicles involved, 76-year-old Judy Burton-Bradford of Bryant, was pronounced deceased on Monday at the scene. One driver and three minor-aged passengers were transported to local hospitals, with one of the passengers having now succumbed to injuries and being pronounced deceased.
The investigation of the accident is ongoing. The Benton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team, along with the Benton Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, are investigating the cause of the crash. Further details will be available at a later time.
