THREE ARRESTED IN PURSUIT SUSPECTED IN ARKANSAS COUNTY HOME INVASION

Holbert Burckhart Ngo SMALLLLLThree people arrested by officers of the Benton Police Department are wanted in Arkansas County for questioning in a home invasion robbery. David Paul Burkhart, 33, of Hot Springs; Scotty Holbert, 36, of Dewitt; and Michael Anneeason Ngo, 29, of Dewitt are each held in the Saline County Detention Center, each facing multiple charges.

At approximately 6:42 p.m. Thursday, June 9, Benton officers attempted a traffic stop on a maroon Chevrolet S10 westbound on Interstate 30 for seatbelt violations, but the vehicle accelerated to 80 mph when the truck’s hood blew up and blocked the windshield. The truck, however, continued to give chase turning onto Highway 70 and later onto Highway 128 and Highway 5. During the pursuit, a black pistol was thrown from the vehicle and was later recovered by officers.

The Arkansas State Police joined in the pursuit and the suspect’s vehicle later crashed into a ditch on Highway 5 near Rockdale Road. During a search of the vehicle, 29 grams of suspected methamphetamine, three syringes, digital scale, .22 rifle, 20 gauge shotgun reported stolen out of Arkansas County, and a laptop reported stolen in Beebe was found in the vehicle. The .45-caliber handgun recovered during the chase was found loaded.

During contact with the Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office concerning the stolen shotgun, officers were informed that Holbert, Ngo, and a suspect matching Burkhart’s description were suspected in a home invasion robbery in their county.

Holbert faces charges of fleeing, class D felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) with Purpose to Deliver, class A felony; speeding; no seatbelt; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, class B felony; Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, class B felony; Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, class Y felony; Theft by Receiving, class D felony; Theft by Receiving, class A misdemeanor; and Tampering with Physical Evidence, class D felony.

Burkhart faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) with Purpose to Deliver, class A felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, class B felony; Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, class B felony; Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, class Y felony; Theft by Receiving, class D felony; Theft by Receiving, class A misdemeanor; and Tampering with Physical Evidence, class D felony.

Ngo faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) with Purpose to Deliver, class A felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, class B felony; Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, class Y felony; Theft by Receiving, class D felony; Theft by Receiving, class A misdemeanor; and Tampering with Physical Evidence, class D felony.
