BNPD ASKING FOR PUBLICS ASSISTANCE ON JUVENILE HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT CASE

New BNPD Logo Transparent with white glow MAR TXTOn 10/20/15, at approximately 7:26 AM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the Benton Junior High School on report of a pedestrian vs. car hit and run accident.  
 
Upon their arrival, they made contact with the 13 year old victim who said he was skateboarding near the intersection of Border and North St. when he collided with a truck.  He said he was unable to stop as he and a truck approached the intersection and he hit the front driver’s side causing him to roll over the hood and land on the pavement. The incident took place at approximately 6:30 AM and the suspect vehicle was described as being a black pickup truck that fled the area. 
 
The victim was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries to his knees, elbows, and head.  Detectives with BNPD are diligently working the case, but are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
