DISTURBANCE WITH A WEAPON CALL LEADS TO AN ARREST

RyanShawOn 6/3/15, at approximately 6:28 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the 400 block of Algood Street on report of a disturbance with a weapon.  
 
Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the victim who informed them a suspect, identified as Ryan Shaw (30 YOA) of Benton, had threatened them with a shotgun.  According to the victim, he went over to speak with Shaw and when he walked onto the front porch of the residence, Shaw pointed a shotgun at him and threatened to harm him.  At that time the victim left the residence without further incident.  
 
Officers made contact with Shaw and seized a shotgun as evidence found in his possession. Based on evidence and information obtained, Shaw was subsequently placed under arrest in relation to the incident.  He was transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident.  
 
Shaw was charged with Aggravated Assault and 1st Degree Terroristic Threatening.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
