ThomasGarrettOn 4/15/15, at approximately 9:47 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the 800 block of S. Main St. on report of shots being fired with a victim being injured.
While in route to the call, officers located a person, Chad Garrett (33 YOA) of Benton, walking down the road who was also identified as being the victim in the incident.  Chad didn’t appear to have sustained injuries and according to him he was shot at by his brother, Thomas Garrett (35 YOA) of Benton, during an argument.

Chad was charged with Public Intoxication and Thomas was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Household Family Member, Public Intoxication, and Discharging a Firearm Inside City Limits. Both were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
