BNPD Giving Students a USB Drive and a Lesson on Seat Belt Safety

  Over the next few days, the Benton Police Department is giving away pens that contain USB drives built in to them to every student in the Benton School District from the 8th through the 12th grade.  In addition to being a functional pen, each one of them has a detachable 2 GB USB flash drive built into it.

  Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in the number of vehicle break-ins and thefts in recent months.  Although this can sometimes be attributed to the usual uptick of crime in the warmer months, this doesn’t mean you can’t do some things to help prevent it and not become a victim of the criminal element who choose to steal from others rather than work like the rest of us. 

 

Detectives Investigating Arson at Local Church

  On 9/5/13, at approximately 1:20 PM, officers were dispatched to Midtowne Church on Boone Road for a report of a criminal mischief.  Upon their arrival, it was determined there was evidence of arson present.

Detectives Solve Felony Forgery Case and Make Arrest

  On 9/4/13, at approximately 1:47 PM, officers responded to Robinette St. on report of a theft and forgery call.  It was determined that a suspect had stolen checks from the victim and was possibly forging them at local businesses.  

 

Disturbance Call Leads to Two Arrests

On 9/4/13, at approximately 7:51 PM, officers responded to the area of S. Market St. and Jackman St. on a report of suspicious people.  While in-route, officers were informed that two subjects were hiding in bushes near a house located on S. Market Street.
