Benton Police Looking for Aggravated Assault Suspect

Detectives with the Benton Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect, Kenneth Wayne Janski (W/M, 43 YOA).  Janski has an outstanding felony warrant for Aggravated Assault.   

The Aggravated Assault charge stems from an incident that occurred on Mother’s day, May 13th at a residence in the city limits of Benton.  The victim is a female acquaintance of Janski.

Click It or Ticket to Boost Seat Belt Use – Day and Night

Benton, Arkansas – Motorists who refuse to wear their seat belts – beware.  The 2012 national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement mobilization kicks off May 21 to help save lives by cracking down on those who don’t buckle up. 

Benton Police Department is joining with other state and local law enforcement officers and highway safety advocates across the country to help save more lives by strongly enforcing seat belt laws around the clock.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2010 nationally, 61 percent of the 10,647 passenger vehicle occupants who were killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes overnight (6 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.) were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the fatal crash, compared to 42 percent during the daytime hours.

The Repossessor is Legit

Earlier this week, we had an incident, where a citizen filed a report in reference to an attempted theft of property and potential scam.  The citizen reported that someone acting as a repossessor came to his house and attempted to repossess his four-wheeler.


Today, the Repossessor contacted the Benton Police Department.  Based on the recent findings, our investigation has found that the repossesser works for a legitimate repossession company and this incident was an actual legal attempted repossession.  However, the statements made by the reporting party during this incident led us to believe it was suspect at the time of the report.  We have established that the repossessor did nothing wrong or illegal, however some of the statements made were possibly not best practice.  Nonetheless, our investigation is completed.
