Two Suspects Arrest for Kidnapping in Relation to Child Custody Issue

DickersonCollage1  On 12/17/13, at approximately 2:50 AM, officers took a report of a residential burglary that took place on Hobbs Road.  Upon their arrival, they were informed by the victim that somebody had possibly broken into his home while he was sleeping and that his child had been kidnapped during the incident.

The victim stated that he thought he heard a noise and saw somebody in his home earlier in the night, but when he looked he didn’t see anybody.  At approximately 11:40 PM he received a phone call from a Saline County Sheriff’s Deputy who said he found the victim’s 6 year old child walking down the street approximately a mile from his home.

It was determined through the investigation that two suspects, later identified as Amy Dickerson (30 YOA) and Landon Dickerson (31 YOA) of Benton, had broken into the home and kidnapped the child.  Information and evidence suggests that the suspects abducted the child in an attempt to interfere with an on-going child custody issue.

Both Dickerson subjects are charged with Kidnapping, Residential Burglary, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 1st Degree.  They were both taken into custody and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility without incident.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
