Benton Police Department responded to the 500 block of River Street just after 2 p.m. Sunday in reference to a shooting. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
One minor injury was sustained when a resident in the area was seeking cover. The BNPD Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, which remains ongoing. This is believed to be an isolated incident, and detectives are diligently working leads. Anyone with information is asked to please contact BNPD.
