BURGLARY IN PROGRESS CALL NETS TWO ARRESTS

Monica Brittney CollageAt approximately 11:19 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, officers with the Benton Police Department arrested two people for an alleged residential burglary. A resident on Ashley Street notified dispatch that two people were seen breaking into a neighbor’s home.

Officers located 33-year-old Monica Diane Greer of Traskwood and 21-year-old Brittney Suezann Potter of Benton inside the home on Ashley Street. While in custody, detectives found that Greer was connected to a theft that occurred previously at Johnston’s Home Center on Military Road and that she was suspected in a case of a stolen vehicle. Greer is also wanted in Faulkner County for Probation Revocation.

Greer and Potter each face a felony charge of Residential Burglary. Greer additionally faces charges of Breaking and Entering, and felony Theft of Property. Both are detained in the Saline County Detention Center.

“We encourage citizens to call in and report any suspicious activity, as this case demonstrates, it effectively assisted the officers in catching suspected criminals” Chief Kirk Lane said. “We encourage and appreciate community involvement, as it takes all of us looking out for one another, to keep the city and residents safe.”
