JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR RECENT VEHICLE THEFT AND BREAK-INS

Recently, detectives with the Benton Police Department have been conducting investigations into some recent thefts and vehicle break-ins in a few residential neighborhoods.

On 9/10, officers with the Bryant Police Department stopped a vehicle after a short pursuit that turned out to be stolen from a home in Longhills Village.  The suspect, a 16 year old juvenile, was taken into custody at the time without incident.

NewCoin2014-Front-Transparent-webBased on information and evidence BNPD detectives found, the juvenile was also linked to two other recent vehicle break-ins in the Hurricane Lake Estates neighborhood.  Further investigation determined the juvenile was a suspect in another vehicle that had been recently broken into Longhills Village.

Charges of Theft of Property and three counts of Breaking or Entering have been filed with juvenile officers.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
