Benton Police Arrest Parolee for Numerous Charges Print

   On 1/27/12, at approximately 6:01 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to 2122 Penland Dr. on report of a domestic disturbance.  Upon their arrival it was determined the suspect, later identified as Ricky Higgs (B/M, 41 YOA), had fled the scene prior their arrival. 

    Through their investigation it was determined that Higgs threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and caused approximately $500 worth of damage to her vehicle.  Officers obtained a warrant for his arrest for Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree, Harassing Communications, Assault on a Family Member 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Disorderly Conduct. 

    Higgs was taken into custody on 1/30/12 without incident and is currently being held in the Saline County Detention Facility in lieu of a $5,000 bond.  There is also a parole hold on him at this time, and he is a registered sex offender.
