On 12/17/11, at approximately 10:55 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the 2200 Block of West Lakeview Drive on report of an attempted abduction.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the 14 year old victim and three of his friends.  The victim reported that he was playing outside with friends when a truck/SUV drove by twice.  The vehicle then came by a third time when it slowed down and an unknown male subject jumped out and grabbed the victim and tried to pull him towards the truck.  The victim was able to escape to safety and the truck drove off.

The vehicle was described as being either a full size truck or SUV, hunter green in color, 4 X 4 with a lift kit on it, and dark tinted windows.  There was no further description on the suspect except that he appeared to be a dark skinned male.  There were other individuals in the truck with him, but there isn’t any more information on them.  Attempts to locate the suspect’s in the area were unsuccessful and detectives are diligently following up leads in the case.

Anyone with information related to this case is strongly encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS.
