Approximately 200 cars & trucks, including almost 50 Corvettes, lined up on the old Saline County airport runway Saturday morning, December 3, 2011.  With invaluable escort service provided by  the Benton Police Department & the Saline County Sheriff Department, the caravan traveled to Toy Hill, across from the Little Rock Zoo, to donate new, unwrapped toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.  Many of the cars were loaded with back seats & trunks full of toys.

The vehicles represented the Dixie Car Club, the Central Arkansas Corvette Club, the 50th Anniversary Model A Club, the Mini-Cooper Club, the Hot Springs Cruisers, The "Hot Springs" Village Cruisers, the Arkansas Mustang Club, the Arkansas Dodge Club, the Arkansas Chapter of the  NHRA, CAMS Car Club, the Victory Motorcycle Club & many non club member individuals.

Hall of Fame Country Music DJ Bob Robbins & radio station KSSN FM96 assisted in promoting the event.  Although it was cloudy and cool, the rain held off and the sun came out to allow the convertible tops to come down by the 10:00 a.m. departure.  This was the 8th annual Toy for Tots caravan held in Saline County.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the free food & entertainment.  Many of the vehicles were on display for spectator enjoyment during the afternoon.  The event was sponsored in part by the GEORGE BEYERS COMPANY, located in Benton, Arkansas, which offers sales, service, parts & technical support for IBM & Lexmark Wheelwriter Typewriters.
