Benton Police Arrest Two for Residential Burglary Print

    On 12/2/11, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to 715 Houston St. on a report of a possible burglary in progress.  Upon their arrival it was determined that the residence had been broken into and the suspects were still inside. 

    Officers were able to locate the two suspects in the home and take them into custody without incident.  The suspects were identified as Steven Youngblood (W/M, 35 YOA) and Justin Scott (W/M, 27 YOA), both residents of Saline County. 

    Mr. Youngblood was found to be in possession of a large knife when taken into custody and Scott was found to be in possession of approximately 6 grams of suspected marijuana.  Both subjects were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing. 

    Justin Scott was charged with Aggravated Residential Burglary, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Criminal Trespassing, and Theft of Property.  Steven Youngblood was charged with Aggravated Residential Burglary, Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Criminal Trespassing, and Theft of Property.  Additionally, Scott is an active probationer, and Youngblood is on parole and is a registered sex offender.
