Benton Police Arrest Burglary Suspects in the Act Print

    On 11/19/11, at approximately 2:00 AM, patrol officers arrested two suspects for residential burglary and other charges.  The two suspects were identified as Bobby Valencia (W/M, 28 YOA) and Laura Mejia (W/F, 31 YOA). 

    While on patrol, officers noticed a vehicle pull around the back of a residence located at 2502 Gattin Road.   Upon further investigation the officers found a suspect, Bobby Valencia, actively breaking into the residence.  It was determined that another suspect, Laura Mejia, was also with Valencia and both subjects were arrested without incident. 

    Both subjects were charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of Property, Criminal Trespassing, and Public Intoxications.  Additionally, Valencia was found to have 6.2 grams of suspected marijuana in his possession and was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Both subjects were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges against both suspects are possible.
