Officers with the Benton Police Department arrested Michael Adams (W/M, 32 YOA) for violating terms of his release as a Level 3 sex offender.  On 9/26/11, officers responded to the area of the Benton High School on report of a possible sex offender being near the campus. 

    Upon arrival, officers made contact with Mr. Adams in the area of Border Street near the high school.  Through the investigative process it was determined that Adams had indeed walked through the campus of the Benton High School.  Level 3 and 4 sex offenders are prohibited from being on public school property as part of their release terms. 

    Mr. Adams was taken into custody and charged with being a Registered Sex Offender Prohibited from Entering Upon a School Campus.  He is currently incarcerated at the Saline County Detention Facility and is being held on a $3000 bond.
