On Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 the Benton Police Department will be hosting a citywide Sex Offender Education Class.  The class will be held at the Benton Municipal Building (114 S. East St.) in the City Council Chamber.

Speakers at the event include Paula Stitz, Sex Offender Manager of the Arkansas Crimes Information Center, and Detective Jennifer Tarvin of the Benton Police Department.

The class is open to all Saline County residents and there is no cost.  Anyone wanting information on Sex Offenders in the community and laws pertaining to them are encouraged to attend.  The department does ask that those attending do NOT bring their children with them due to the graphic nature of the presentation and material discussed.
