The Citizen's Police Academy is an 8 week program hosted annually by the Benton Police Department that offers citizens in the community a glimpse of what police work is all about.  Some of the areas that citizens are instructed in include:

* Organization & function of the department

* Code Enforcement

* Traffic Stops

* Crime scene investigation

* Domestic violence education

* Patrol division

* Accident investigation

* DWI investigation

* Narcotics & the K9 program

* Firearms

* Crime prevention

* School resource officer
