SUSPECT DRIVES TO POLICE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBSEQUENTLY ARRESTED FOR DWI AND DRUG CHARGES

KimberlyYancey1On 11/17/14, at approximately 2:57 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the police department (114 S. East St.) on report of subject who called 911 because she thought subjects were trying to “get her.”  
 
Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the caller, who was identified later as Kimberly Yancey (44 YOA) of Benton, who was speaking very rapidly and acting very agitated.  Yancey was also hanging out of her vehicle and yelling at officers who were standing in the parking lot nearby. While officers were speaking with Yancey, she became more agitated and attempted to drive away from them, but she was eventually apprehended in the parking lot of the Municipal Building without further incident.  
 
Yancey was subsequently placed under arrest for suspected DWI, and was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine. There were also pipes and straws found inside the vehicle that are commonly used to ingest illegal narcotics.  
 
Yancey is charged with DWI Drugs, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony-Meth), Possession of Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor-Marijuana), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
