SUSPECT CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO RECENT RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY AND THEFT

JosephHenry1On 10/28/14, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to an address on Burton Street in reference to a criminal trespassing call.  Upon arrival, they made contact with the victim who informed them a suspect had walked into their residence unannounced.  
 
Officers made contact with the suspect, identified as Joseph Henry (21 YOA) of Benton, in reference to the call. Henry informed officers he just there trying to borrow equipment from the homeowner.  
 
The case was turned over to detectives and it was reported later by the victim that they found out two rings, valued at approximately $2,000, had been stolen from their residence.  Based on information and evidence obtained during the investigation, a warrant was issued for Henry in connection to the incident.  
 
Henry was arrested on 11/3/14 without incident and is currently incarcerated in the Saline County Detention Facility.  He is charged with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
