Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Assault & Possession of Automatic Weapons

On 9/10/13, at approximately 4:40 PM, officers were dispatched to the area of the Carpenter Street Overpass of I-30 on report of a possible aggravated assault.  Officers were informed by dispatchers that it was a road rage incident involving a suspect pointing a handgun towards the caller and was last seen heading east on I-30.

 
Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle at the Alcoa Exchange shopping center a short time later.  The driver of the vehicle was located a short time later and identified as Justin Stegall (28 YOA).   Upon further investigation, Stegall was placed under arrest in relation to the road rage incident.  In addition to locating a handgun in his vehicle, officers also found automatic rifles that were in Stegall’s possession.  
 
 
Stegall was charged with Carrying a Weapon, Carrying a Prohibited Weapon, and Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree.  The Benton Special Investigative Unit detectives are conducting the investigation into this incident and are also working in conjunction with ATF agents in relation to the automatic weapons located.
