Follow-up Investigation Leads to Another Rx Forgery Suspect

  On 10/11/13, officers with the Benton Police Department arrested a suspect, Chad Thompson (33 YOA), at Westside Pharmacy in relation to forged prescriptions.  The investigation was then turned over to detectives with the Benton Special Investigative Unit for follow-up.  

    During the follow-up investigation, detectives obtained evidence that led them to another suspect in the case.  The suspect, later identified as William Burns (32 YOA) of Little Rock, was subsequently arrested without incident.  
 
 
    Burns is charged with 23 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forgery Device.  He was found to be in possession of devices used to forge prescriptions at the time of his arrest.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible in the future.

    On 10/11/13, at approximately 6:34 PM, officers responded to Westside Pharmacy on report of a forged prescription.  While in-route to the call, officers were informed the suspect was still on scene.
    Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, identified as Chad Thompson (33 YOA), at the business.  After an investigation, Thompson was subsequently placed under arrest without incident.  
    Thompson is charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Forgery Device, Fraud to Obtain Prescription Medications, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and he had an active warrant out of another agency.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible in the future.
