On 11/5/13, at approximately 6:42 PM, officers responded to a report of shots fired at Fountain Lake Apartments. Upon their arrival, it was determined a possible victim had been transported to the hospital prior to officers arrival on-scene.
Officers found evidence of a shooting that had taken place in an apartment and detectives responded to assume the investigation. Contact was made with the 19 year old female victim at a local hospital regarding the incident. Initial indications are the shooting was accidental and took place when a 21 year old subject was handling a firearm when it discharged.
The victim did suffer a gunshot wound to her neck area, but it isn’t believed to be life threatening. Detectives are examining evidence in this on-going investigation.
