Suspects Being Sought In Connection To Felony Theft And Forgery Case

On 12/10/13, officers made contact with employees at the Salem Water Users Association about a theft incident.  Officers were informed that checks had been stolen out of their company mailbox over the weekend and that fraudulent checks were being written on them.

Since taking the original theft incident, officers have also taken two forgery reports at local banks where a suspect was using the stolen checks to obtain money.  Detectives assigned to the case have been diligently working it and have determined the suspect in the case is Johnny Fair (56 YOA) out of North Little Rock.  Fair currently has an active warrant for his arrest for 2 counts of Forgery and additional charges are possible.

There have been other reports of the stolen checks being forged at other banks in the metro area.  Detectives are working with other agencies to determine the connection between the cases and to determine the exact amount of money stolen in the case.

Anyone with information about Johnny Fair’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS.  Individuals also may send an anonymous crime tip about this incident to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text or go to www.crimereports.com to leave a tip.
Any suspects listed are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
