On 1/7/16, about 1 a.m., officers with the Benton Police Department responded to a call of residential burglary in progress on Edison Avenue and noticed a man running toward Lance’s Convenience store. The man, later identified as 34-year-old Eric Len Cooper of Benton, was stopped at the back of the store.
Cooper was positively identified as the suspect in the burglary and he was taken into custody. Cooper faces charges of Residential Burglary, Public Intoxication, and Criminal Mischief and was transported to the Saline County jail.
