On 6/18/15, detectives with the Benton Police Department arrested three individuals in relation to recent break-ins and thefts at an area storage facility.  The three arrested were; Christopher Munoz (26 YOA) of Alexander, Brooke Bowers (22 YOA) of Benton, and Caleb Lee (26 YOA) of Benton.

Recently, information and evidence was discovered by detectives in relation to four storage units that had been broken into at the Access Storage facility on Hwy 5 North.  Based on this information, a search warrant was obtained and later executed on Room #201 at the Best Western Benton Inn (17036 I-30).  During the search, approximately $6,000 worth of items were located in the room that were determined to have been stolen from the storage facility.

Munoz, Bowers, and Lee were all subsequently taken into custody at the hotel in relation to this crime.  They were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without incident.  All three are charged with 4 counts of Breaking or Entering, 4 counts of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Theft of Property (Felony).  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming for them.

Most victims in this case were unaware their items had been stolen until being contacted by detectives.  Citizens are encouraged to check their storage units to determine if items may be missing and if so then contact the Benton Police Department at 501-778-1171.
