DRUG PARAPHERNALIA CALL ENDS IN ARREST FOR METHAMPHETAMINE RELATED CHARGES

MartinFerrellOn 5/27/15, at approximately 5:30 PM, officers with the Benton Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Hwy 5 North on report an individual finding possible drug paraphernalia.
 
Upon officers arrival, they made contact with the caller who stated an employee of his, identified as Martin Ferrell (44 YOA), had been using Methamphetamine and he found drug paraphernalia related to it.  Officers then spoke with Ferrell about the issue and he showed them two syringes he had in his hand before suddenly running towards a nearby bathroom.  
 
Access was gained to the bathroom, where Ferrell was observed flushing the contents of a syringe down the toilet. Ferrell was then taken into custody and two other syringes were located on the floor.  Additional syringes were located in Ferrell’s belongings and one of them was ‘loaded’ with suspected Methamphetamine and the other had suspected residue.  
 
Ferrell was transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without further incident.  He was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
