TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF SUSPECT WANTED ON MULTIPLE FORGERY CHARGES

KevinLangley3-28-15On 3/27/15, at approximately 6:30 PM, an officer with the Benton Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in 800 block of Cole Drive. Contact was made then made with the occupant, Kevin Langley (30 YOA) of Benton.  A driver’s license check of Langley revealed that he had an active felony warrant out of our agency.  He was subsequently placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing.  
 
Langley is charged with 6 counts of forgery that stem from a case detectives worked recently.  On 3/6/15, officers took a report from a victim who had multiple checks that were stolen and had cleared area banks and businesses. Based on evidence and information gathered during the investigation, detectives were able to obtain a warrant for Langley’s arrest.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible.
