BNPD OFFICERS ARREST SUSPECT FOR GUN AND DRUG CHARGES FOLLOWING DISTURBANCE INVESTIGATION

TramaineJacksonOn 1/31/15, at approximately 12:53 AM, officers responded to 2017-A Sagecrest Drive on report of a disturbance with weapons call.  Upon their arrival, officers determined that three subjects had been fighting and that one had discharged a firearm during the disturbance.  
 
While conducting a search of the area, officers located a “sawed off” shotgun near the apartment where the disturbance occurred.  It was determined during the investigation that a suspect had fired the shotgun, but none of the parties involved sustained injuries.  Subsequent investigation lead to the suspect, who was identified as Tramaine Jackson (24 YOA) of Benton. 
 
Jackson was located later on a traffic stop by officers and based on information and evidence gathered by officers, he was placed under arrest. Jackson is charged with Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons (Felon), Criminal Use of a Prohibited Weapon, Simultaneous Possession of Drug and a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in City Limits (Benton Ordinance), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Theft by Receiving, and Driving on Suspended License.  
 
The drug charges stem from suspected Methamphetamine and Marijuana that were located in Jackson’s vehicle.  Jackson was also found to be in possession of a stolen license plate. This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
