BNPD DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST IN FORGERY CASE

HowardCantonOn 1/13/15, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of a fraud that occurred at the Bank of the Ozarks (7250 Alcoa Rd.)
 
Detectives then assumed the investigation and determined the suspect in the case was Howard Canten (40 YOA) of Conway. Based on information and evidence discovered during the investigation, it was determined that Canten had attempted to deposit two fraudulent checks in excess of $10,000.  
 
An arrest warrant was issued for Canten and he was subsequently placed under arrest by detectives on 2/3/15 without incident.  Canten is charged with 2 counts of Forgery and 1 count of Theft of Property.  This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming.
